Woman hacked to death by brother-in-law in Ganjam
Berhampur: A 21-year old pregnant woman was allegedly hacked to death by her husband’s younger brother at Kharida village under Ganjam district’s Hinjili police station limits on Tuesday.The incident took place while the deceased was sitting on a dharna along with her two-year-old daughter outside her husband’s house in protest against the man allegedly abandoning her.The deceased was identified as Pooja Swain of Agastinuagaon village. Husband Chintu Gouda was not in the house when the incident took place.“We have registered a murder case and seized the axe used to kill her. The accused, identified as Litu Gouda, was detained for interrogation,” said Srinibash Sethy, IIC Hinjili police station. TNN
